Research/Review Assessment - 25% - 1st Due by July 26th - Week 7 & 2nd Due by Aug 2nd Week 8
Using the Shapiro Library Website you will find two scholarly articles, journals, or research papers to review and reflect upon. Choose an article that will satisfy the course objectives relating to use of technology, trends, emerging tools and the global connection. Feel free to find an article that satisfies the objectives and also relates to your core content areas if applicable.
Course Objectives:
This review will meet/reinforce the course objectives: (may meet/reinforce other course objectives as well)
#1 - Students will demonstrate their conceptual understanding of the use of technology in a global education #2 - Students will demonstrate/reflect upon methods of utilizing and promoting digital tools for collaboration and communication and the effective use of digital tools and resources #5 - Students will demonstrate the ability to evaluate, adapt, and reflect on emerging tools and trends by participating in local and global learning communities and reviewing current research and professional literature.
Requirements:
1. Locate reading, Link to reading & post assignment on your blog (The linking is not limited to the one reading. Please reinforce by using images, video, and other information you have gathered from your course work thus far. Remember to please make connections to your own teaching practice/soon to be if you are not currently teaching.
2. Review and reflect upon the article (guidelines below/all but not limited to)
1. Brief overview of reading (2 - 3 paragraphs)
2. How does this reading pertain to the course objectives - local and global learning
3. How does this reading impact your teaching with technology?
4. Reflection - What did you learn, what will you do differently with this new information, how will your teaching practice change going forward, how will you share what you learned from this reading with others, etc...
Assessment will be graded based upon the following criteria:
Content/ Writing Quality
Research/Review/Reflection is well written, clearly presented, original/authentic, easy to understand, thoughtful, and is graduate levelwork.
The level of writing had depth andcontained a 2-3 paragraph review of reading prior to reflective portion.

Connections / Personal Examples
Research/Review/Reflection shared personal connections to the course content presented in the weekly posts and or video examples. There is rigorous discussion/connection to teaching, learning, students and what it means to be living in a globally connected world.

Use of Enhancements and Links
Blogging is nothing without linking. It is a living document. It is of utmost importance that you link to any site you use, made a connection to or want to provide others with that information. It is also very important to bring enhancement to your blog by adding videos or pictures. This will engage the reader.
